Gia Van Pham
April 15, 1953 - November 15, 2012
Savannah- Gia Van Pham, 59, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Hospice House.
He was born in Hanoi, Vietnam and moved to the United States in 1991. Before moving to Savannah in 2004, he lived in Ohio and Virginia. He was an aircraft mechanic at Gulfstream Aerospace for five years. He attended music school to learn to play the guitar and drums and was active in the choir at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pham Van Duc and Tran Thi Hon, and uncle, Vu Gia Thuc.
Survivors include his wife, Lan Samuelson; step-children, H. George Meyers Kim, Henry V. Meyers, III Michelle, Susan M. Meyers; aunt, Pham Thi Coi; sister, Pham Thi Hanh Jones Kenneth; cousins Vu Kim Sinh Do Thi Anh Hong, Vu Duc Tinh Pham Thi Than Nguyen, Vu Duc Luu Nguyen Thi Hang, Vu Thi Ngoc Lan Nguyen Trung Dinh, Vu Quang Trung Ho Thi Thu Thuy, Vu Kien Long Pham Thi Thanh Tuyen, Vu Thi Thuy Hang Vu Duc Hau, and Vu Kien Van Vu Thi Thu Phuong; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of the Fairfax, VA area.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012 and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. The pallbearers will be Quoc Tran, Phuong Pham, Tan Van, Henry V. Meyers, and H. George Meyers. Burial will be private.
